About Us

                                     Full restoration to Retford Library
What we do...

At Kierson we specialise in the restoration of timber windows and all timber architectural features including doors, columns, conservatories, orangeries, corbels.... Primarily, we are an architectural conservation company, we hate to see any timber feature and especially timber windows being replaced unnecessarily. At Kierson we understand the need to incorporate modern advances into period properties but we do this without signifcantly altering the property's appearance. At Kierson we are able to repair, draughtproof and generally overhaul and upgrade all timber casement and sash windows.

Based in Retford, Nottinghamshire, we are in an ideal location to reach customers throughout the country. We have worked from Dorset to the Isle of Skye.

CHAS and CSCS
For industry.... but also for the homeowner.....

CHAS and CSCS are national, industry accreditation schemes. These are instantly recognised by all contractors, procurement managers, surveyors and construction industry officials and is only necessary for such.

But as a homeowner even though these accreditaions aren't necessary, it does give you peace of mind that Kierson has been recognised by governing bodies to have reached a high level of proficiency both in the work it carries out and in its managemnet of Health and Safety.

CSCS - Construction Skills Certification Scheme

Health and Safety for building sites

CSCS was set up to help the construction industry to improve quality and reduce accidents.

CSCS cards are demanded as proof of occupational competence by contractors, public and private clients and others. They cover hundreds of occupations.

There are different levels of cards relevant for different trades and different levels of competency.

We are extremely proud that all Kierson operatives carry the  GOLD CSCS cards.  The gold card is the advanced skill card and has been awarded as an  acknowledgement of the level of skill our operatives have in joinery and carpentry and particularly in relation to HERITAGE properties. Sometimes the Gold card is known as the Heritage Skills card.
